The Contest is to redesign a kitchen and dining room area from existing plans which are attached. A number of pictures of the existing area are included for perspective.

Required deliverables will be pdf drawings for the floor plans, specs, etc. dwg files are highly desired as well, but please advise if dwg files will not be available with your entry. Designs will need to show all necessary dimensions, either included or on a separate pdf/dwg. Additionally at least four 3 dimensional images will be needed from different angles to observe the full effect. More images will be appreciated and likely given higher consideration, especially for separation of the kitchen and dining areas.

The concept is to completely gut/remove the kitchen cabinetry but utilize all existing ovens, stovetop, microwaves, etc. It is currently believed that all appliances, sinks, etc can be relocated from their existing locations except the oven/stovetop due to gas lines and venting requirements. Island can be removed as well. No appliances or sinks should be put in existing or new island. Leaving items in their current locations would reduce remodeling costs and would be preferred, but not required.

Colors for the countertops, cabinets, walls, etc. will be whites/greys. Cabinets should be flush inset type cabinets. An example of colors and cabinets is included for reference purposes. Should have under cabinet lighting and some glass cabinet fronts with interior lighting through glass shelving. Designs should include lighting fixture ideas as well, such as pendants, canned, etc.

Assume 10' ceilings in the area and all measurements should be in feet and inches. Appliances in the dining room area can be moved freely. Sink can be kept/moved or removed in dining area.

Questions from designers may yield additional info in the coming days of the contest.

Contest may be ended at any time and prize awarded prior to the scheduled contest end if an exceptional design is received.

Did you mean you want to separate kitchen and dining areas? Or you would appreciate separate images of kitchen and dining areas?
Second question, would you like to change furniture in dining area?
Third question, if you would like to separate kitchen and dinning room, would you prefer hard separation i.e. Wall or high cupboard. Or you want a soft separation i.e. bar table or something that would visually divide areas.

Hi Sir, thanks for your clear and detailed instruction, just have a question here. Is there any preferred style of kitchen & dining? Kind of traditional American style like your image (white kitchen and cabinet example)? Or you also accept simple and modern style?

It is now believed that anything can be moved except for the oven/stovetop, but we are getting clarification from the builder.
