I will have a number of mideval style characters that i need sprites with a specific set of animations built for.

I am going for a grungy dark style using greens, browns, grey, and sandy colors. Trying to keep to a close color palate for my game style. Mideval Fantasy setting with non cartoony stylized sprites. Ive attached a good color palate to give ideas.

The sprites should be slender either, 128x64 pixels or a ratio similar, eg 256x128, 512x256. Going for better quality if possible.

I need a top-down viewing angle, and animations for each using a bow, sword, staff, walking, running, and idle. I also would like them to be in 8 directions eg north facing, northwest facing, west facing, southwest facing, south facing, southeast facing, east facing, and northeast facing.

This contest is for one character with these quilities.

The rules are he has to follow color palate guidelines, he has to be Human, Elf, Orc, hobbit, goblin, or dark elf race, and have no armour, just basic leather or cloth clothing. Also, he must have all directions listed above available in the animations listed above.

    Well this didn't end well unfortunately.
    it is not a sprite sheet, it isn't even transparent.
    How will these be animated now?
    You cant ask this guy for any of the weapon animations.
    I would have liked to try at this, but could tell it would end up here, so I didn't.
    If you want help with this I would be glad to even if it is only advice.

    Hey there, I think it would be a good idea to also upload a reference of a similar art style related to the characters, perhaps another game or some background art, to get a sense of your game feel.

    Also if you are getting so many entries at this rate from the same user, they are most likely AI generated and it will be a nightmare if you ever need changes to animations etc. Unless us have a competent animator and illustrator.

      You have a very good point and yes I'm aware that animations will be a nightmare, but I've been working hard at learning as much as I can so that I know what I can expect if I hire someone to do each Sprite sheet for each character. A good game to reference for the style would be final fantasy but darker older games that are similar would be Lineage, or Legend of the dragoon, or diablo 2, 3 more going for the lineage diablo 2 play type, so top down, but 3d or technically 2.5d. Sprite animations will be needed for everything and we're going to make it as detailed as possible. I greatly appreciate your input, and hope to see your entry at some point. Thanks!

      Also sorry it took a week to respond. I've been hard at work developing the engine for this game and have a pretty solid start.
