for all of the emergency ventilators used during the Coronavirus epidemic, write a simple app that learns the rhythmic movement of the ventilator by setting a phone on it and if the motion stops for more than the preset time, start an audible alarm and a flashing light alarm with optional email or text alerts until reset.

do you want a program or a design? If you want a program would you please tell as the exact type of ventilator you are using in order to know what kind of movement to detect.

  I expect a working program that’s basically a reverse motion alarm. No motion above a set point for a set period of time, sound an alarm and flash the screen. Can be used for many things but my company is building a low cost ventilator that presses an AMBU bag. Looking for an alarm if it shuts off unexpectedly. I might also use it to know when my 3D printer is done.

What kind of ventilator and where on the ventilator? If you can put it on a vibrating part realted to pumping then you can get a result but not if you keep it on the top of giant ventilators that have more non moving parts that are unrelated to the breathing rate/pump rate.
