콘테스트 개요

Calling out all illustrators / pattern designers / Painters to create a wallpaper for walls range mainly targeted to kids and young adults.

The designs have to be high end modern designs with focus on style, design, texture, pattern and repeats that suit interiors.

I highly promote the use of hand drawing and painting as well as illustration programs. Original files to be supplied of works once finalised.

Happy to except variations of one particular design. Example: Design in black and white and outline. Then same design in colour.

Wallpaper widths and pattern repeats can vary depending on the design. 690mm is a good average base width to work with for standard pattern repeats. Happy to work with horizontal repeating full length of 2700mm images if your design entails.

A few of the topics and briefs are as follows. I will upload inspirational images for a few of the designs where i can, titled in the topic name for you to refer to. If you have any questions about the style of design or illustration after reading my brief description please ask. Happy to view a sample of the style of your design for a topic before creating the whole thing.

Cactus tree: Large repeat of cactus tree that overlap each other. This is to look more abstract with trees at different sizes. The curves of the trees overlapping each other is the main focus.

Clouds: Slim lines that turn into fluffy clouds parallel to each other

Faces of animals: Create a wallpaper patten with brush strokes that form different animal faces and and seamlessly blend into another animal face.

Create an animal using fish swimming: Similar to the Faces of animals idea create an animal silhouette using a school of small fish creating the image.

Mountains: Please refer to images

Race Car Track: intertwining roads that have a little race car in odd places

Neon Lights: A wallpaper depicting neon lights in resemblance to major cities in the world. This to be a pattern repeat

Sneaker: Classic well known sneakers from leading brands illustrated, black and white outlines and coloured. Stacked above each other as a pattern.

Space Galaxy: Illustration or paint indicating the texture and depth of perspective of space in an abstract way.

Surf Board and Palm Trees: Make continuous pattern repeat of this style illustration

Stone: Please make reference to the floor in the picture and create a pattern similar

DOTS: In paint or texture, refer to artwork in photo

Aboriginal dots: Use artwork as reference

I have also attached a zip file of random wallpaper styles called "Inspiration ideas" Please feel free to pic from this folder and create your own.

I have also attached another folder named "Topic Inspirations" with images titled in the relation to the topics above.

Please if you come up with an idea you think is suitable for a wallpaper pattern and would like to discuss please send it through.

There will not be just one winner of this contest as there are a few different topics.
I will choose from all the submissions and pay for the ones i choose separately.

I will pay between $20 AUD for simple designs to $150 AUD depending on the design and detail and quality of the artwork for only the ones i choose.

All copy write will be forwarded to me once design has been chosen and paid for.

      Do you lean more towards kids and whimsical designs? Or, stylish adult designer looks too?
      I didn't have time to work on this much - hopefully I can do a few more now you have extended.

    But also if you see a design you like but think you can do it better and different then please do.

    Please note all applicants:
    I am a graphic designer, so please do not try to copy any images from image libraries and claim as your own. I do not mind if you use existing images from libraries to be used as an element in a pattern design. But do not copy other peoples patterns and submit. Those that i see will be directly rejected so please don't waste your time and mine. Thank you

      Hi, I've just seen the project. I think it's really interesting and i'm thinking to join in. I read the brief and I need to confirm with you the following: 
1) The award it's between $20 / 150 AUD per each wall paper design depending on the complexity. Will the award prize be decided only by you? Or the designer has the chance to describe his/her work and negotiate a fair price? 2) Will you award all the theme based wallpaper design you described in the brief (around 12-13 themes) if you think the artworks are worth it? If you could answer these questions it’d be great. I have experience in designing wall art. I created a wall vinyl sticker for Glace’ Frozen ice cream shop.
