We are a growing publishing company and are looking for our next superstar writer to join our team!
This contest is for a 10,000-word romance story. The story should be engaging, written in the 1st person, 100% original, with fantastic characters who will be used in a series if you are the winner of this contest. You will be invited to be part of our writing team and continue this story for a 6-book series.

The category of romance we are looking for this contest is contemporary Royal romance with the creation of Kingdom and story line that are romantic, intriguing and that most not only be creative but very engaging...you can't wait to turn the pages and read this story.

Your work needs to be proofread before you submit your entry to the contest. Your English should be flawless, using perfect vocabulary and excellent grammar. The work must be 100% original. No plagiarism will be tolerated.

For this contest, the winner will receive 200$ plus an engagement for six more books at a rate of 10$/1,000 words each.

You will have 10 days to write and submit your entry for this contest.

1: I used to write list articles for pretty much all the major list sites - y'know the kind of thing: 5 Cases of Death by Bra, 10 Ways the Nazi's Were Surprisingly Kind to Animals, etc. I kid you not. Standard gig's around $50.00 per thousand words. And they only want 1000 words. Granted, you have to do the diligence on that, but - $10.00 bucks per thousand words is a* lot* of whimsy and longing over a capacino for considerably under a pretty standard - regular - freelance writing gig. Can you explain the inducement for anyone to want to win, here...?

2: Nobody's going to submit a FULL 10,000 word story to win the gig. 1,000 words tops to establish plotting and writing style - for talent scouting, you could probably get by with three sentences - but 1000 is more than adequate and the contestants remain at less risk of having their original work stolen. From your perspective you'll also get more entries.

  DepartmentS, the way I want this contest to work is for 10,000 words. If this does not interest you, just don't enter. And it is hard to judge a work that is less than a finished story. 1,000 words won't let me know how the person built the story and characters, and that's what I am looking for.

Just a thought here, instead of a 10,000 word story, why not go with like a minimum of a thousand word prologue?
