I'm new to online freelancing, have no formal qualifications, and the last time I was employed full-time by someone else was in 1995! What I do have is 25 years experience starting and running a variety of small businesses, start-ups and projects of my own. These include YB Hungree (Cape Town's first food delivery service), Solid Records (record shop), Krushed & Sorted (DJ/music production), African Dope Records & Publishing (award winning independent record label and publishing house), Dig-It-All (digitization services for the music industry), Sonic Spaza (online synchronisation licensing service), Gigham (events listings start-up), Boffn (scraped online city guide) and The Stake Ranch (private crypto mutual fund) This journey has led me from boardrooms through banging tunes to life on a laptop, and provided me with a smorgasbord of skills, some learned willingly others not so much, including but not limited to: - critical thinking / problem solving, - excel, pc and internet research wizardry, - business writing (pitch decks, business plans, proposals, contracts, marketing materials, website content, copywriting etc), - capturing / collating and organizing data from multiple sources, - strong verbal communication skills, including public speaking, - using and trading crypto / blockchain analysis, - basic web design and coding (html, css, wordpress, php, mysql), - synchronisation licensing and copyright law, - music production and djing, I also have a broad general knowledge with thousands of hours of personal research in the fields of geopolitics, history, economics, philosophy, technology, culture, the music industry, metaphysics, convid and world football. Since 2018 I've been primarily farming and trading crypto for a living while filling my head with high quality information. But there are limits to what one can accomplish as plankton in a sea full of whales. Especially in a shrinking sea. So, fresh waters. Here on Freelancer.com, I hope I can add some value to some cool and interesting projects from around the world: - I enjoy capturing, taming and crunching data and have 5000+ hours experience; - I have an excellent command of the English language, with a broad vocabulary encompassing technical terminology from financial to cultural; - I would like very much to write about interesting things A long time ago, I once asked the late Luciano Pavarotti at a press conference if he would consider collaborating with electronic music artists.
