FOR A CSS GURU I have a small navigation "toolboox" on a website being run under IBM Webshere, I am able to manuipulate JSP pages (essentially fragments of HTML) so I need to work in pure HTML and CSS. The toolbox is made up of six images in 2 rows, each row being three images wide, currently inside a table. Each graphic is 97W x 42H. I need to position text over the images. I am having problems with Java applications on an IBM mainframe taking too much real memory. I am running the Tomcat web server and Derby database. I have tried tuning the Java max heap parameter. It has to be at least 8 meg (-Xmx8m) otherwise, I get out of memory conditions. The applications appear to be taking over 10,000 real page frames. Is there any way to tune this to take less real memory?
