Seen at that size, the slubs and the overall texture of the underlying canvas are quite visible. I would like to remove them before printing on canvas which will have its own texture. My goal would be to do this while keeping bushwork, color fidelity and edge sharpness intact. My preference is for an aggressive reduction of both the regular canvas weave and the irregular slubs, with particular care taken around the facial areas and hands so the sitter’s features and hands remain crisp and natural.
