Materials Engineering is an interdisciplinary field of engineering which involves the design and optimization of material properties for a wide variety of applications. Materials Engineers specialize in manipulating physical and chemical properties of materials, as well as providing guidance on how and for what purpose these materials can be used. A typical job of a Materials Engineer is to develop new materials or enhance existing ones to improve the quality, durability, cost effectiveness, energy efficiency, and performance of any engineered system they work with.
The expertise of a Materials Engineer is indispensable to a number of industries, ranging from consumer products and aerospace engineering to biomedical devices, renewable energies, and even nanotechnology. Whether it’s finding new materials that are lighter, stronger, or more efficient in energy consumption, or enhancing existing materials’ performance characteristics to fit consumer needs, our experts make real projects turn into reality with their innovation and technical proficiency.
Here's some projects that our expert Materials Engineer made real:
Materials Engineering is constantly evolving due to the current trends in the engineering field and Materials Engineering plays a crucial role in it. Our team puts all their knowledge in designing the most innovative materials from scratch, as well as enhancing existing materials’ functionality or improving user interfaces. I have a concept and a rough prototype, but it’s still very much a work in progress and not a finished product. I’m looking for someone to work with me physically to help complete the design. Specifically, I need help: -Creating the base foundation of the hairpiece so the hair can be sewn or attached securely -Offering advice on ways to improve functionality, comfort, and overall design -Helping finalize the basic product so it’s ready for further testing or production I’d love to collaborate with someone who has experience in hairpieces, wig making, or product prototyping, and can provide hands-on i...
We need a basic design for the support of the outside section of a belt cross conveyor. The weight of the conveyor is 43lb/ft, with an additional 40lb hopper on the supported end. See the attached drawing for dimensions. One of the profiles shows an example support. Requirements: - Design must be suitable for outdoor use - Materials should be rust and corrosion resistant - Capable of supporting a light load Ideal Skills: - Experience with structural design - Knowledge of corrosion-resistant materials - Ability to create durable outdoor structures

I need a materials engineer to map out a complete, production-ready method for joining a thin plastic/polymer insert—think credit-card size and stiffness—to a woven or knitted textile so that the final composite behaves like part of a normal bed sheet. Durability is the overriding goal: the bond must stay intact through repeated flexing, laundering, and everyday use without adding noticeable bulk or stiffness. The plastic strip must remain reasonably flexible along its length, while the fabric side should be able to accept a liquid-phase treatment or resin. I am open to lamination, injection moulding, glueing, bonding, impregnation, heat treatment or a hybrid approach, provided the route keeps tooling costs sensible for medium-scale manufacture. What I need from you • ...
