We are a company that sells a 'CNC' Machines. The aim of the project is to set up an online SERVER that controls all our machines through a SCADA connection and find the required electronic devices. This server will: 1. receive the machine user job request (HMI); 2. calculate the job to be done (already coded in python and finished); 3. send the G-Code commands to the machine in order to achieve the job requested. At the end of the project, the SERVER is the centralized head of all machines and the machines itself do not require a PC or software, just a IoT connection to send job requests and receive working commands. I have a project that needs a continuous data acquisition, monitoring and storing solution to be build in LabView. It requires initially four simple RS232 and one RS485 driver to be written. There is some documentation available on the driver protocol but it may need work on figuring out the exact wiring and commands back and forth. I am using an industrial type RS232 to USB converter (FTDI chip) and two of the devices are able to talk to the computer. The other two I have not yet luck. This includes the RS485 and the issue maybe correct wiring as the instructions are skimpy (German). The devices are a motor, a temp controller, a Alicat mass flow meter and pH Electrodes.
