I can do that for you in no time at all. Moreover, I believe I can modify the script for automatic protection against crashes as well... if the entire HDD data is lost, then its a different case. Otherwise, it should be able to recover your DB automatically in case of an unintended server reboot or an unexpected crash. Please contact me.

A backup is always a good idea and something very simple to do. If your database is being written to often I might also(or instead of) suggest a cron job to auto-backup the database each day. Depending on how big your db is having two copies written each time may be taxing on your server. PM me for more info.

We could add a script to your server to automate the process of backing up the database. We would also set it up to backup to another server if required. Backing the data to your computer would be ok, but may be slow dependant on the file size and if you have broadband or a leased line. Had a client w/s similar req, making the backup in the Linux box is simple, getting the file to your PC can also be easily accomplished you have to make sure you cover the case when 2 or more users "submit" the the form at the same time so no overruns.
