Concept for ontology based recommendation and matchmaking engine | very specific...long term project

We are creating an intelligent recommendation & matchmaking engine to bring business partners togther ( to buy, sell, co-operate etc. ) STEP 1: ( you need to do this ) Assess and select a theoritical approach to intelligent recommendation & matchmaking Before this engine is developed we need to establish a sound theoritical model / approach. This can be done when we have assessed the current approaches ( and those used in real time businesses, such as amazon, dating, gaming matchmaking etc. ) We will then select an approach based on this approach step 2 STEP 2 ( its preferable that you can do this, but you dont have to ) Define data and statistical model STEP 3 ( its preferable that you can do this, but you dont have to ) Define algorithms and learning feedback systems Step 4 ( its preferable that you can do this, but you dont have to ) Write code Theoritical Basis When classical recommending systems are often based on categories or matchmaking on a limited set of properties of the delivered content, ontology-based recommenders open new possibilities allowing to increase the expressivity in the formalisation of user preferences and interests .Such recommender systems, based on semantic web technologies are quite recent. The interest compared to classical approaches is to allow complex user preferences, going beyond the expression of categories of interest, to be taken into account.
