Motion sensor animation

Looking to move in front of a motion sensor camera with up to 4 people, and then have animated characters copy the movements on screen for fun interaction. I just want a prototype for now, so the characters I want to use need to be free ones. Examples are - the 3d Monster Impling, Goblin Robber, Soldier Pack, and Red Samurai, which I have seen for free from Unity Assets. I would like it on a simple background, like on top of a building, or on the moon, or something like that. I would also like to be able to record the animated movements on screen and save it as a mp4 file so the interaction can be shared online. At present, I do not own a motion sensor camera, but thinking of buying a kinect v2 and adaptor or Intel RealSense, meaning I'm also keen on recommendations for hardware and software to run this prototype. I'm looking to run it off my Asus laptop which has Corei7 and NvidiaGE Force 820M, which I think should be powerful enough to run prototype?? If the prototype goes well, I've got plans to have original 3d characters created, and also would like to explore other artwork for the motion sensor and public interactivity. This is my first project using this tech, so making it simple with recommendations and support would grab my attention.
