As a Filipino who grew up with a Christian background, I really believe in God and that there is an eternal life. I recently watched a netflix series also about people who experienced near death experience. Apparently, all of them are experiencing the same thing. They saw a very bright light and a tunnel, and a place which seems like a garden. I think that is a manifestation of heaven. Regarding the question, Do I believe in life after death? In my own opinion or I would rather say, for me, No. I don't believe in such. Once your dead, you're dead already. No more reason. Why do you think so?", here's my response: Discussions about death is a taboo in my country, the Philippines. It is a topic that everybody seems to want to avoid, even though the event of death is something unavoidable. As a Catholic-dominated community, we are taught that there is indeed, life after death. That the life we live now is but a borrowed time bestowed unto us by our Creator, that soon enough, we shall all return to him. Even as young children, we were taught that we must be careful of how we live life, and bear in mind to do good at all times because our actions of today, will be taken into consideration on Judgment Day. Do I believe in life after death? Yes. Not because I am faithful, or God-fearing but because I have to. Because I have hope that after this chaotic world we live in, we deserve a second chance at life, at living.
