Hello! I use Mikrotik in my geographically distributed network - there are more than 30 remote points. I faced a similar problem when our network was blocked due to the fact that one of the computers on the network was infected with a virus and enters the botnet to send spam and brute-force passwords on sites. Instead of knowledge of a product, the certainty of checking your clients is a must here...... Define your inside environment, do you have any bots inside? How are you hosting your email ? Whats the AV solution, if any? A switch or router do nothing to block spam but the domain filters, clean systems do.

Hello, I have more than 12 years of everyday experience with Mikrotik RouterOS's firewall and problems just like yours. Also, I have passed 4 Mikrotik certificate exams, the latest one was in area of network security (MTCSE) about a year ago. The problem that you have described is a common issue in medium and larger networks with many users, some of them eventually get infected with some kind of malware/virus. I can quickly find the cause of the problem (the host or group of host which are sending spam or attacking other networks) and fix it at the network layer (if possible, that depends on nature of the problem) and point it out what else can be done to prevent this or similar problems from happening again in the future. It is also possible that your CCR1009 is miss-configured and acting as a proxy for various types of attacks. Usually it takes me less than a couple of hours for this kind of problem but at the moment I simply don't have enough information how often this is happening so that's why I stated 3 days for completion. If I see it during the first test it will be fixed in a very short time. Please note that this is my first bid for a project at this site and I'm still learning how things work here. I hope it will be successful. If you accept my offer I'll need remote access details for that CCR1009 (preferably Winbox, with read, sniff and test privileges for diagnostics). Regards, Mladen
