This is a project that requires a lot of manual work, a smart person, and good command of the English language – probably a native speaker. It requires no programming skills, and only modest computer skills.
Our website contains over 18,000 of pages of content to teach people how to do things. We want to make our internal site search more effective at delivering the search results users want. This is a project for someone to go through each content page and list three to five “alternative queries” – other ways in which users might write their search to find the exact same page.
An example can be found at the bottom of this page.

You will go through a list of our how-to topics, one by one, and for each one formulate 3-5 of these alternate queries that are the ways users would be most likely to phrase their search if they would be interested in these results.
We will provide some research tools, and some basic rules that we have thought of to help stimulate your thinking… but we look to you to be better at this than us, and to think of stuff we might never think of.
We have attached detailed instructions, along with an example of the work done, and a sample list of 10 for you to do (which should only take a few minutes).
Please note before you bid: this will be a long and demanding project, and is fairly repetitive -- at the same time, you can't be formulaic, we need your brain on to think creatively the whole time you do this. Please bear this in mind before you bid.
