Hej, I have developed a smart water level sensor device called “Thing-Tank” to help people to know water level in their home’s tank “remotely” i.e. without physically going to the tank. Thing-Tank consists of an advanced water proof electronic device called “Thing-Tank Node” installed inside the water tank. For user there is a smart phone application that talks to its Thing-Tank Node directly over Wi-Fi network and gives user round the clock real time water level information. If there is no Wi-Fi network available, Thing-Tank Node automatically becomes a Wi-Fi Soft Access Point so that user can connect to it directly just like we connect to a Wi-Fi network. Therefore through this kind of setup there is literally zero running cost of service for us to offer and since it has no mechanical parts involved wear and tear is zero as well. I have done fluid level measurements with Ultrasonic, capacitive and pressure sensors. I have done tank level sensor which uploads information to an online database and statistics are available. I know my way in radio communications, EU radio regulations - frequencies, permitted transmitter power, etc. I know exactly which sensor is the best for your project considering it has to be battery powered.
