Hi, So basically we are developing an artificial intelligence controlled robotic system. We are looking for a person who has a good knowledge about different types of gears such that one could obtain optimal results according to the situation requirement. An attachment has been uploaded which contains the question statement. A person to be heired will be judged according to the most optimal result one could find and also how nicely one could explain the answer. A CAD generated gear working will be great. So i would suggest to do proper research work while attempting the question. Required skills: 1. Must be a mechanical engineer. [login to view URL] be fluent in English. Hi, At shorz, we have more than enough experience in machine designs, enough to provide the adequate and functional solution you are looking for. After reading through your project which we found interesting, mechanical engineers at shorz understood what you need, which is just a reduction gear box which would drop the weight at a rate of 1meter/min. Our solution would contain calculations of the required gears in the gear box, a sketch of the arrangement of the gears and a cad file (Inventor or Solidworks, your preference) to show 3D of the gear box. So, we are very much capable of handling your project. It would be great if we could talk about this in detail over a chat. Following is a solution for the problem statement you posted online. Although the RPM(Design speed <2900) at which the generator is most efficient is not given, I am going to assume that 2900 RPM is its design speed and puts out it's rated torque of .56 Nm at this speed. Also, the efficiency value given in the statement is not clear. So, it's not considered in the calculations. Since, efficiency of generator=VI/T w= (24*14.3)/(0.56*2*3.14*2900/60)= 343.2/169.9787=2.01(201.9%) To find gear ratio Since V=R*w 0.016667=0.05*w' =3.33 (w'=angular velocity of shaft) w'= 2*pi*N'/60=31.818 (N'=RPM of shaft) Now that the required RPM of the shaft and the generator is know we can find the required gear reduction required. N/N'=91.14 To find the Min. weight of the block we are going to equate m*g*V=T*w (energy equivalence) m*9.8*.016667=.56*2*3.14*2900/60 m=1040.6 kg Now the value which we have got is quite high but it is going to come down considerably with the correct values. So, I would request you to provide us with the correct data.
