My project is related to strengthening a RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) column by providing the column a RC jacket. The dimension of original column is 300mm*300mm with length 3000mm(3m). According to mathematical calculations, the ultimate load that column can bear is 1444.56KN .
To strengthen that column of 300*300mm i.e. to increase the load carrying capacity of this column, I am providing a RC jacket of 100 mm thickness all over the initial column, so the new dimension of column becomes 500mm*500mm. Now I want to find out what is the ultimate load carrying capacity of the final column. According to mathematical calculations the load carrying capacity should increase by 1.5-2 times (even more than 2but less than3) the original column. Or second thing that could be done is finding the buckling load in both case. Also i nee to find te increase in ductility and stiffness
