We need to hire you to develop an app to help us run our business. We are just a team of 2 but the day-to-day operation is getting harder because of our lack of resources and organization.
Therefore we need an App to help us run our business.
NOTE: WE WERE THINKING ON ACCESS, BUT IF YOU KNOW OF ANYTHING MORE EFFICIENT THAN ACCESS, WE ARE OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS. We "upgraded" from excel to access after reading some opinions on the web...
Anyway, here is what we need (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!):
We need to have a welcome window with 8 buttons:
- New customer
- New project
- Prepare Estimate
- Prepare Purchase Order
- Customers
- Projects
- Import Price Lists
- Back Up / Restore DB
Each button will take us to different functions:
1 • [NEW CUSTOMER] ← Form:
- business name
- phone
- Business address
- Ship to address
- main contact
- other contacts
- other emails, etc
2 • [NEW PROJECT] ← Form:
- Project name
- specifier
- Location
- Brand
- Est shipping date
- Order submission date
- Payment date
- Deposit payment amount
- Balance
- Completed / closed
3 • [PREPARE ESTIMATE]
Based on the loaded EXCEL PRICES LISTS (see above) have a window where I can add a markup amount (any percentage I type) and automatically generate the prices for this form.
The form will have this drop-down windows:
CLIENT (choose from a drop-down window with all pre-loaded clients)
Project (will fill automatically Project Name, Specifier, Location)
Date
Bill To
Ship To
Reference number
Revision Number
Currency
Estimated turnaround
Terms
and then a form to generate this estimate which will load info from the imported EXCEL docs:
BRAND | CODE | QTY | DESCRIPTION | UNIT PRICE | EXTENDED PRICE | TOTAL
At the bottom of the form:
TAX (I decide the percentage) | SHIPPING FEE | GRAND TOTAL

4 • [PREPARE PURCHASE ORDER] A form with the following things:
Project (will fill automatically Project Name, Specifier, Location)
Date
Bill To
Ship To
Reference number
and then a form to generate this estimate which will load info from the imported EXCEL docs WITH NO MARKUPS:
BRAND | CODE | QTY | DESCRIPTION | UNIT PRICE | EXTENDED PRICE | TOTAL
At the bottom of the form:
GRAND TOTAL

5 • [CUSTOMER LIST] ←- to show a list of clients
6 • [PROJECTS BOARD] ←- to show a pipeline of projects. It would be nice to see the open orders, the stages they are with checkmarks (I decide which stages to add).
