I have to approaches to suggest:
1) Macro that adds a button in the ribbon bar so you execute update with one click
2) Macro that adds a button in the ribbon bar with a Turn on/off button so is operating automatically with every open sheet or just active or could add a select sheet form to avoid tampering sheets you don't wish to format.
The required tasks are quite simple, just need the time for back and forth and coding.
