Requirements -- Design a marketing web site for equipment trading company. Web site will have sections such as: - About Us, - Market, - Equipment and Parts Inventory, - Services (including Logistics) - Contact Us (Including maps to office locations around the world) The site layout would encourage the end-users to publish their equipment through the site, and also encourage them to take a look at our inventory. The work requested is broken into these sections: Database ----------- Equipments posted on a relational database, such as MySQL. Alternatively, a graphDB such as Neo4J might be used. Equipment and Parts Listing Page: ------------------------------------------ 1 - Scalable to support scrolling through 1K+ equipment or parts listings 2- Pagination for navigation, and breadcrumb 3- Being able to search equipment by category, name, price, location 4- Being able to sort the results by any of the columns 5- Being able to see the thumbnail of the listed equipment or part in terms of images 6- Each product may have one or up to 3 images attached to it. 7- List Columns are resizable, and remembers its position per session as you decrease the browser window width, it hides less important columns for better visibility Security ---------- 1 - Ability to control publishing equipment listings with a private URL (only the people who has access to that URL 2- Ability to control equipment listing visibility to only signedIn users. 3 - Login function for signup up users for targeted marketing campaigns (nice to have) Detail Page and Messaging --------------------------------- 1- Being able to click on a select listed equipment, and see the detailed properties, along with possible list of images, and contact button to get the customer's contact information and send it to us 2- Product detail page sends email to selected company people, including visitor data and back to detail page URL Search --------- 1- Search Engine to search equipment by all content fields as well as custom entered keywords 2- Certain fields may be stored on the database but may be designated as not searchable 3- Custom search keywords may be attached to each equipment record. Left Navigation Bar ----------------------- 1- Left navigation bar to help filter certain equipment or parts listings based on category, price, location etc. Search Engine Optimization ---------------------------------- 1- You should be able to serve all contents without using JavaScript, in pure HTML 2- All URL's are SEO friendly and descriptive Home Page ------------- Home page would display various marketing messages and will have links to the Equipment listing page. Mobile and Tablet ---------------------- The UI will be responsive and will automatically adjust to work with different screen sizes from mobile devices, tablets to desktops. Publishing ------------ The equipment listings will be imported through a secure FTP connection as a CSV file. Localization --------------- Web site should be Intenationalizable to other languages and locales, including Asian countries. Administration ------------------ Admin mode to see the listings and all end-user actions on those listings. Personalization ------------------ Remember users preferences such as sort order, filters, sign-In status. Development Language / Platform ------------------------------------------- Magento Template desired. Wordpress OK. Scala Play framework optional.
