Most of these websites are developed by using python API or on python using python libraries. I would like to tell you that python has many more libraries as compare to PHP. But still we can developed somethings close to your requirements. There might be few complex math libraries which is not available on PHP and we need to do a workaround by developing something from the scratch (all formulas and computation). I understand that you need the plugin to be quick and its obvious. For this purpose, I can use the AJAX and it loads and compute everything on back-end without refreshing the page. Moreover, using some kind of small CSS animation can rescue us on this and the 2-3 seconds of delay in computation time will go unnoticed. As far as the responsive design is concern. That requirement will be fulfilled without any debate and obviously, everything will match your website.
