Fix bugs and UI of an existing Java app

Our time is building a time tracker, which is based off of an existing Java desktop app. Our existing app works pretty well, but has a few bugs that need fixing, as well an interface we need to prettify. Our existing Java developer had to leave the project for personal reasons, so we need a short-term replacement. This is a limited engagement, but may continue after we release the MVP in - hopefully - a few weeks. With your help that's possible! You should be a hard-working, meticulous individual who pays attention to detail. You should have solid technical ability, demonstrated commercially. You should be a clear communicator, a good listener, able to converse professionally and clearly with clients, and internal non-technical team members. You will be expected to follow specifications and instructions closely, and document your work where required. You should be able to work carefully, but quickly under pressure, expected to take full ownership of your work and to work closely with the tech and product lead to ensure on-time and robust delivery. You should have proven commercial experience working with high-volume web services, and have some understanding of the challenges often faced with handing high-traffic APIs and complex database queries.
