My name is Syam Pillai and I am a Senior Java Application Architect. I am involved in many Java development projects and for the web/mobile front-end developments, I use Vaadin ([login to view URL]) in most of my projects. In Vaadin, Java web UI components can be developed by wrapping Polymer components. However, in this project, I am not asking for Java developers to do the wrapping part. I do that part myself and if I need any helping hands there, I might post a separate project because Javascript/Polymer and Java developments are two different skill-sets). Work involved in this project is to migrate some of the open-source Polymer components to Polymer version 3 and also developing new components as and when the need arises. All components should be published at [login to view URL] as open-source with Apache 2 license. (Work will be accepted as 100% completed only when the component is available at [login to view URL] and after a sanity check on the usability). In the case of existing open-source components, developers appointed for this project may just contribute to them or if required, do the improvements (including version migration) my cloning them.

I played around with polymer a bit a while back when doing work with hyperhtml (it's a better parity of then lit-html). My understanding is that in so far when referring to polymer component the primary criteria is that it's web component that doesn't require polyfills/transpiling like reactjs does as probably has some api protocols (props or something), and with that in mind my ideal custom components would be based on hyperhtml/cyclejs/xstream (cyclejs/xstream authored by RxJS creator).
