Build a LabVIEW Virtual Instrument for a high rate battery charging test setup. Includes protections from hazardous conditions, control of a digital programmable power supply, relays, thermocouples, voltage sensors, and logging to a report for analysis. Detailed project specification attached in files, along with the completed Front Panel. The goal of the VI is to create a test bench for high rate battery charging and current transfer between battery systems and capacitors with reporting and protections to prevent thermal runaway. Different battery chemistries, custom battery builds, and 10s ultracapacitors will be evaluated on this test bench to find suitable balance between charge rate, storage capacity and battery degradation. Charging of 6s or 12s batteries and capacitors at rates up to 110A at 22 or 48v. This project is for my own research into high rate battery charging systems, with testing taking place in my backyard or garage. The future is in fast charging and I want to know about what that looks like before the new technologies come out. I plan to release a whitepaper with the generated data on which I am happy to include your name. Looking forward to working with you.
