Due to similarities with the upcoming Mac Pro, Apple may not release an updated Mac Studio with an M2 Ultra chip. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a new version of the Mac Studio with the "M2 Ultra" chip is unlikely to appear in the near future. Gurman explained in the most recent issue of his "Power On" newsletter that because the upcoming Apple silicon Mac Pro is "very similar in functionality to the Mac Studio," Apple may wait until the release of M3- or M4-series chips to update the machine, or simply never refresh it at all: I don't think a Mac Studio will be released in the near future.
