Android standard app with Java backend in cloud. I have a requirement for my personal project, the project is in the finance domain - to suggest some stock and option trades, and monitor existing positions,and some intelligent analysis. The total work has two parts : (A) Build the UI as an android app - I have a very naive app that I coded myself in Android studio - it’s working fine, but pretty much bare-bone functionality. Take my app and built from it - better navigation, rich UI, and make it more versatile. I will share the UI mocks and the architecture of the app. (B) Build the backend - This would a Java backend application, to automate some jobs (mostly data downloading, cleaning, storing in compressed format, and serving). It will run on cloud (Google/EC2). The server will expose an API interface that the app will talk to, and an admin page to control the operations. I have a fair design that you can take and implement. This is not part of first version, my app is currently running fine without any backend. I am a Comp. Science masters and full time software-engineer with 10 years experience. and though I don’t have time to code this myself, I have working prototypes for each and can help you if you do not have the necessary expertise in a specific technical stack. This is my first post seeking freelancer help, and if it works it could be a ongoing collaboration in future. About the specifics of the work, I can talk more when we connect, but these are some things you I can speak more about [1] I am extremely helpful , so you won’t be judged against any harsh expectations or deadlines. [2] I am not a corporate customer, and it is my personal stuff (That doesn’t mean you will be underpaid). I’d emphasize more on proficient developer skill than freelancer experience. Think of it more like working “with” me than forking “for” me and getting compensated for your contribution, because I might also take some pieces and finish myself whenever time permits, and you can suggest your own ideas and I’ll accept them if they’re more suitable than mine. [3] You are proficient in core Java, along with standard design patterns. And working knowledge in android app development in Android Studio - so that when I use the terms like Activity, bound service, persistent notifications, fragments, layouts - they don’t sound totally greek to you. You'll need to learn those before start if you don't know. [4] For the app I prefer Android Studio, but I you have developed an app using in-app browser which will also work readily in desktop, please let me know as well. I need a native app not an web-interface, because it will trigger some events even when I’m not using the mobile. [5] If you are from India, well, I’m Indian too. You don’t need English proficiency certificate to deal with me. This isn’t a necessity though. [6] I would prefer individual developer than a team or organisation. [7] Last and not the lest, please be good in coding. Period. That’s the foremost requirement I’m seeking for. Everything else, ask me I'll give details and you'll learn before starting. If that sounds like you don't feel shy to reach out even if you don't have past track records or client recommendations. It would be nice if you send out a personal message, along with you automated reply. The offer amount is a tentative one for the android app only. For the Java backend I guess it requires more effort and developer skill. But I guess if you have a software / computer background, you should be able to nail it easily, we can consider that later.
