I need a mobile android application that uses Augmented Reality to show information about different cultural attractions such as statues or famous paintings. I want it to be built using QR Codes as markers that will be placed somewhere around the place of interest.
** Important mention: All the tools used inside must be open-source / free of license!
**Mention 2: I also have to do a written part of the project consisting of State Of The Art, Theoretical Fundamentals, Application Implementation, Experimental Results. I will take care of the State of the Art and Theoretical Fundamentals, but I am able to pay additional money for a written part of the implementation of the project and maybe some experimental results (we'll talk more in private). So the project would be priced as a Simple Project with the posibility to bump the price if Implementation Documentation is provided.
So the system would work like this: The application is supposed to detect and scan a QR code (using something like the google vision api or something you guys custom build. Inside the QR code will be encoded 2 strings: the first one condains simple information such as: This is the portrait of Mona Lisa made by the artist Leonardo da Vinci. And the second one would be a URL with a GET request collecting additional information from a Database such as an additional picture, plain text or audio explanation of the Place of Interest. We would need some sort of a preliminary menu where the user can select whether he wants to get Audio, a descriptive picture or Text as the Augmented reality object. This should be somewhere in the settings part of the menu.
The first part of the QR code is only used if the user has no access to the internet (e.g. mobile data and wi-fi turned off). If the user has internet, the second part of the QR code is used, a get request is made to a database and information is retrieved and shown as Augmented Reality based on what user chose to get from the menu (audio, pictures and text -- default should be set to text in case the user doesn't choose anything). I will provide you with the info to add on the database (it would be somewhere between 10-20 entries/ places of interest each having an audio description, a descriptive image and a text description attached).
Hi,
I took a look at your description, very interesting stuff. we've worked on a similar project involving QR codes and AR for a real estate company. your project seems similar, we have a template built for it. I can show you a prototype if you're interested. I think things will be more clear if we get on a skype call.
