I have a number of remote sensor devices that are able to send UDP datagrams to a single destination device (IP address and port combination).
Rather than having this data hit a single destination device, I would like the UDP traffic from each sensor to be received by a Mikrotik router and forwarded to multiple destination devices simultaneously (i.e multiple destination IP address/port combinations from a single UDP source). A maximum of 20x destinations is required for each single incoming UDP stream.
This will need to then be duplicated to support up to 20x sensor devices, each reflecting to up to 20x destinations.
Each sensor would send its data to the single Mikrotik IP, but use a unique port per sensor. Eth 1 of the Mikrotik would be used to gather the sensor data.
The Eth2 on the Mikrotik would be sitting on another VLAN with route-able access to the destination devices.
A crude diagram of the system is attached as a PDF.
No decision has been made on the exact Mikrotik device yet, but we are interested in using the RB1100AHx4. Dual power supplies and rack mounting options are preferred. Happy to be guided on an alternative Mikrotik product if there are benefits for this project.
I would like some Mikrotik RouterOS config written that achieves the above requirements. I would also need an explanation of how to configure/modify the destination devices IP/port combination for each sensor port.
A Mikrotik device will be dedicated to this function.
Thank you for considering this project.
