I have used the Net::LDAP module for authenticating users against an OpenLDAP server in the past. Is your requirement similar? One of your main challenges - if you are migrating from an SQL-based user credentials system - is dealing with hashed passwords. Depending on the algorithm used to hash/store the passwords, users may need to reset their passwords. Regarding the MySQL interface ... Are you using the DBI module for a low-level interface - or a higher-level interface such as Class::DBI?
