[url removed, login to view] is going to be an entirely user-driven fashion database that integrates the entire clothespick community. Subscribers will be able to submit links to their favorite articles of clothing under the proper subsection. There will be two categories (Men’s and Women’s Apparel) with numerous sub-sections being each respective article of clothing for either men or women. Thus, under the correct section subscribers to the site can submit their favorite links with a short description of that particular article of clothing. This will then appear under each sub-section and visitors to the site can then navigate their way to their desired article of clothing and can view the link and vote on that link. The newest links will appear at the top of the page while the top rated 20 links (say over 100 votes) will appear at the bottom “Hall of Fame?? section of the page. Rating needs to be extremely simple and straight forward. On a 1-10 scale the viewer can simply look at the link and then vote with the click of a button. Only subscribers will be able to submit links while any visitor to the site can view and vote on their favorite links. The layout will be as follows: Home Page: Simple straight forward mission statement and a little information on how to navigate the site to optimize visitor enjoyment. Home page will have side menu where all subsequent pages can be accessed. Every page will have [url removed, login to view] logo on the top with small design for aesthetic pleasure. Possible template for every sub-section in men’s apparel and women’s apparel (i.e. pink page template for women’s, blue for men’s. See [url removed, login to view] as it is right now) News: Latest fashion trends, crazes, news from around the world, etc. Men’s Apparel: Containing the following sub-sections: Pants/Denims, Dress Shirts, T-Shirts Underwear Footwear Jackets/Hoodies Eyewear Rest of the description follows in Deliverables...
1. Complete and fully functional website with all of the features mentioned in the loaded file. Complete detail of the assignment is in the description listed above. Coder must agree to design the pages to my preference as described in the description before the money is released. This does not seem to be a difficult project and therefore the upmost attention must be paid to the description. Strict adherence to this will receive the best payment. Rest of the description is here: Women’s Apparel: Pants/Denims, Skirts, Blouses, T-Shirts, Bra and Panties, Sleepwear, Footwear, Winter-wear, Eyewear, About Us: A little bit about our goals as a company, who we are, our reasons for starting, and what we hope this one-day becomes. The main layout of the site will be extremely straightforward and simple. The left side of the site will have drop down menus where visitors can immediately click on any of the links listed above. The site will be all about user generated content so ease of use is a big part of what we want the website to be about. As far as members go, all members will have a profile section where there will be “My current 5 favorite fashion items.?? Here, visitors to the site can view what members have listed as their favorite fashion items. The members will simply be able to submit links on the main page and then beneath the 2-3-sentence description of the article of clothing, there will be a “Add to my favorites?? button that will automatically add it to the members 5 favorite articles of clothing. The closest thing that this can be compared to is digg.com. The ease and simplicity with which a visitor can navigate the site with all of the different article sections on a left drop down menu is the ease that we are looking for. Furthermore the way the links are described, submitted, and revealed on the site is very similar to what we are looking for. Finally, take a look at the site as it stands now with a .net template ([url removed, login to view]) Although this is just a boring template, the easy navigation and chic look is what we are going for. I am looking forward to an iterative process where ideas will be meshed together to form what will ultimately be the perfect site.
Needs to run on both Windows and Mac OS X. However I don't think this will be a problem as it is only having to do with designing a website.
