We have a thriving online business, but do not want to ship to certain UK postal codes with our main courier (due to high costs of these outlying areas). We need to be able to process CSV files automatically without our staff needing to manipulate the data manually. Ideally, the workflow will be as follows: - Drag-and-drop CSV file into Windows folder (CSV IN, for instance) - Script reads postal code data field and compares against a separate file (we have a list of postcodes in outlying areas). If match found, it appends postal code of source file to force error. - Processed data is written to a new CSV file that is automatically placed in a different Windows folder location (where the shipping software will automatically pick it up and process) Obviously I can provide greater detail as required. The only thing I'm unsure of is that the dataset to compare against may sometimes require only a partial match, but not always - see the attached file for an example of the dataset to check against. Anyway, that's what I'm thinking! I'm sure it's possible with some kind of script that runs in the background, but am unsure of how to do this.

Hi there! I'm interested in your project. We can do an executable script using python. That lists the files that are in a determinate folder using a database as memory of previously processed files just to avoid unnecesary re-processings. In a previous work I handle UK postal codes and they're really complex since they are rapidly changing... So a question is: Are you working with areas or do you have simply a list of associated costs for a given postal code from your courier? Well.. if you're interested message me and tell me more.
