I have higher education-related service site/s and am working to add a powerful school search that will bring return visitors. I have a database, excel/mysql, of about 3000 schools and about 25 fields of data for each school. As many as 20 fields may need to be searched. There is a perfect example of the search I'm looking to create here, as if they pulled it from my own mind: [login to view URL] .
The project would be to basically create a functional clone of the sample site (see link above)
- using my own data fields (from existing mysql db)
- make it different enough that its not a clear copy or certainly not in violation
- ability to have featured school listings in the results for advertising purposes
- fit the search into one or two of my own websites, [login to view URL] for example.
I don't believe I need to upload or list any more information, I basically need to know that you can build this for me and within or below my budget or not. If anything more is needed to help you evaluluate that, just let me know.
Not sure why the Project name is "Build a Website", as I didn't type that; Maybe a default for a missed field. Anyway, the project is Build a Search.

-Near clone of the search tool found at sample site http://www.collegeview.com/collegesearch/index.jsp
(I do NOT own sample site, so my version needs to work the same but avoid copyright issues)
Added features of that example search must be included:
-- "Pin" feature to mark favorite schools
-- Compare pinned schools
-- List and Map layout of results and/or pinned schools
-- Save search and return to search
- Simple Upload and replace data or admin area is needed to upload new data to the search database
- Need ability to mark certain schools as "featured" and highlight them in results for advertising purposes
