Cacti Integration with Backend NMS

Summary: We have deployed Cacti as a customer front-end to view Utilization Graphs. There is no direct communication between Cacti and the monitored devices. Data is being captured from a Backend NMS using its API Function. Graphs are working fine but we need to replace the Ping function of Cacti that instead of sending ICMP requests to verify if a monitored Device is Up or Down, it will query the Device Status from the Backend NMS. Main goal is to only render the Graphs if the Device Status is UP. Who we think should do the job: We need someone with working experience with Cacti Customization, Perl Scripting, Curl Scipting and API Integration.
