We are looking for someone to design a glossary site for our new business initiative. The glossary will be free-to-use for industry-specific terms, on a separate, dedicated website. We are building the content progressively, and need you to build the structure.
We’re looking for a design which maximises readability for our users, SEO (since most initial visitors will come from googling the terms we are defining) and options for ad revenue. The glossary will be made up of three page types;
The Homepage
- Search box for accessing terms
- A-Z buttons for accessing term list page
- List of term categories (customised groups of terms)
- Sponsor’s logo with text and backlinking
The Terms List Page – Accessed via A-Z or categories
- Search box for accessing terms
- A-Z and category buttons for switching to other term lists
- Terms within the term list in alphabetical order with a ‘short definition’
- Webform for readers to request additional terms to be added
- Sponsor’s logo with text and backlinking
The Individual Terms Page
- Each term will have its own page and URL
- Term Name, short definition, long definition, synonyms, and related terms separated out and clearly delineated
- In-text links to other definitions enabled
- Sponsor’s logo with text and backlinking
