Every site that already exists, such as [url removed, login to view]; shows all of the different airlines. These airlines have a build-in directory, or, inventory going to every destination in the world. Therefore, these sites just reflect the exact directory of that specific airline.

For example: if I type into [url removed, login to view]: Cape Town to Honolulu between the 22nd and 29th of March, then the cheapest results are: R26003 on Brittish Airways.

Brittish Airways flies from Cape Town to London, to Los Angeles, To Honolulu.

the next cheapest flight on the link you sent me is: R26754 on Swiss Airways which goes from Cape Town to Munich to San Fransisco to Honolulu.

So you see? every different airline has a specific "layover destination"

that is what the current api's do. They search for flights on every airline using the airline's personal directories.

We want to make a site where you do not look at the airline's existing inventory. We want to change airlines and destinations in order to find the cheapest possible results.

For example: if I was to fly from Cape Town to Honolulu, I want the software to search through all the different airlines, and combinations of airlines and destinations to find the cheapest way there.

So, they software might take me from Cape Town to Dubai on Emirates Airways, and then from Dubai to New York on Cathay Pacific Airways, and then New York to Honolulu on Hawaiin Airways, and the flight will end up being cheaper.

It is hard for me to give you more of a reference, as the software we are trying to invest does not currently exist.

we want to take the idea of [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] and we want to change the algorithms to make the idea BETTER. We want to produce flights that are cheaper.

The existing Sites just take the existing inventories and official layover destinations as a given. We want to swop and change all of the airlines, and the layover destinations to find the cheapest results.

Even though in the earlier example, [url removed, login to view] gave me the cheapest result using the existing software, all it did was search for all the different ways of getting from Cape Town to Honolulu, by searching all the different airlines.

So that api would go through every airline's inventories in the world. It would scan British airways, Emirates, South African Airways, France airways, Turkish airways, etc (every airline in the world). and within every one of those airlines, they have specific layover destinations in order to specific destinations.

We don't want to scan every airline's existing databases/ inventories/ directories. we want to scan every flight individually.
