Google Maps - Reference XML above root directory

I am moving my XML files into a directory above the root directory, there are multiple files that are referenced and need to be pulled into google maps. Currently I have it structured with a download url when populating points on the google map.
The files being accessed need to be possible of being reloaded without reloading the full html page, this is the refresh of location, trucks, etc.
Everything is set up, it's just a matter of changing the reference location.
