Do you want this server to be accessible from the outside, e.g. under domain name? If it's in your LAN think about accessing files via SMB - this way you could mount drive on your desktop/workstation and work on files directly. There's lot of other things that could be configured (I like to test ideas that make development and life easier in my homelab;)
