I am building a web page that calculates paycheck withholding in the state of Texas. It is at texaswithholding.com. It uses php.
The calculations that represent a percentage of income are correct on the results page, but I cannot get calculations with variables to work.
For example, $deduct = $soc + $med + $wh; does not repeat the correct value because $wh is not simply a percentage of income but the result of some if-when statements.
Attached are my index page, my results php page, and a publication from the US government that shows how the calculation should work and provides a case against which to test the calculation. See pages 45 & 46.
