Mini Hydropower Control

Much of the software coding is done. The task for this project is to stitch together the existing software elements into a completed operational system and test and validate its performance. Also to further design and improve the HMI interfaces used. The ideal candidate would have hydropower generation experience in either SCADA or turbine control. Power generation experience is also highly valued. The project requires being in our facility for a portion of the time. We will need to test and validate the operation of the turbine with the PLC control. We have engineers and technicians available for most of the test and validation effort but it seems reasonable that this position will need to have some hands-on time. The current coding company that we are using will stay employed to continue coding until a complete and robust software control system is in place. This position will need to understand and further direct the coding effort and may need to do some minor code or a key piece as necessary but the focus of the job will be using the elements created in a continuous operating system and to ensure it works within the constraints of the physical-mechanical system it is controlling. Further, this position will work to ensure the controls are failsafe, robust, and of the highest performance. All emergencies need to be accounted for and any state must be recognized and recoverable.
