Fixing indexing of recently relaunched news wordpress website

[login to view URL] is the website. I relaunched it recently after a serious number of years of working on an old fashioned platform. Now i am using Wordpress and i managed to migrate with the help of another freelancer from here all my ~16000 articles from the old database. The problem is that since about two weeks ago when i installed Yoast and then provided the sitemap to Google Search console, the Coverage report tells me that 2870 posts are now indexed but 12700 are not indexed (discovered but curenty not indexed statute) Am I missing something, i don't know how to use Yoast plugin for the new posts i am making maybe you can also give me a push in the right direction (i don't imagine i can do something to the old articles to help my SEO case, they are so many...) So is anybody expert enough to figure it out an make my website Google healthy?
