We have two web services which give us JSON data. One API gives us the store list and another one gives us printers data for each store. The printers data contains printers DNS. These DNS does not respond to HTTP protocol. But these DNS respond when we ping them from terminal or command prompt using ping. Now we have to create the front-end using Angular and JavaScript. The important thing is we have to write ping logic in JavaScript and ping the printer Host and show the status of the printer on the front end side. If host replies to us with 200 status then it is available. If not unavailable. We have to show the store number and only unavailable printers on the front end side. NO need of node Js. We have to run UI using JavaScript, Angular and html, REST api and JSON.

Hi, My name is Vlad, from Slovakia. Typical ping or ICMP requests are not available from JavaScript but I think I found one solution using javascript to simulate PING command as from terminal. I hate to bear bad news, but you can't do what you want to using only angular and javascript. Depending on how the site is hosted, you might be able to create a script on the server that pings the printers and then makes the results available to the website, but the website itself will not be able to ping the printers. Another option is to create a new API on a different server that does this and make that API available to the website.
