Service Endpoint Tester – RESTful API - 17/02/2020 21:26 EST

A service endpoint tester is required to test endpoints for an internal system that is currently in development to ensure it meets supplied requirements. You will be provided remote access (VPN) to perform the testing over. A document will be provided with documentation on the API’s and test requirements. You will need: • General understanding of web RESTful API and CRUD operations. • Ability to read and understand documentation about such an API. • Ability to read and understand test requirements. • Ability to create and execute HTTP API operations and read back results. Preferably using a tool such as Postman or similar. o This includes knowledge of HTTP status codes and headers. Knowledge of multipart/form-data requests is also important. • Familiarity with JSON formatted text. • Familiarity with databases, especially Postgres, to check that API operations completed correctly. Ability to use database management software such as DBeaver. You must be able to articulate issues in written English. You are required to create a test plan and time estimate upfront for review and approval. This will be done using an Excel spreadsheet. The test plan must be submitted to us regularly, along with any test artifacts, e.g. Postman JSON requests and responses, to ensure you are testing as required, in an acceptable timeframe. You are required to submit issues you find in detail with steps to replicate (if possible) and will need to retest the issues once they are fixed. This will be done using an Excel spreadsheet.
