Hello. Even though what you need can be achieved without the use of a VPN, it is recommended that you use one. There is an approach that uses a virtual LAN, and all members can have access to the resources you set. Is very simple and doesn't need to have a VPN server on premises. Best regards.

I am a certified network engineer with more than 10 years of experience in networking. I can set up a VPN for you. Which VPN do you prefer? Synology DS218j supports PPTP, L2TP / IPsec and OpenVPN servers. A port forwarding option for file transfer protocols (SMB, AFP, NFS, FTP, WebDAV) directly to Synology is also possible. But for such configuration, access to your router is required.

Hi, we can install openvpn in one of the computer available at the office and create a DHCP subnet which has access to your Office subnet. Its not just the NAS box you can access all the devices in your office subnet. With Openvpn you will get 2 free licenses and 2 connections can be made to the openvpn. If you want to have more concurrent connections, a License need to be procured.
