I'm a mechanical engineer - specialized in the industrial robotic field, 3D designer and modeler (from time to time and some projects I could make the functional prototype too). I'm doing product design, industrial design, reverse engineering, ideation, etc. I have over 15 years experience working on various systems/devices across multiple industries, from concept to launch. 1 - the concept is ok, but require a lot of discussions... 2 - hope you're aware the price will be way different 3 - about the structure - while on a graphic representation looks pretty nice, there are a lot of elements to be designed and analyzed - floor support, connecting elements, gussets, reinforcements, fixtures, etc, etc - will be necessary to start with some minimal dimensions, the shape and spans of the arms, the flange of the motors (or whatever means to fix them onto the arms), etc, etc - even the round tubes used for the landing gear looks great, on the manufacturing process this will cost a lot (bending in such shapes) - i will suggest using something like on helicopters - will be necessary to know all the devices/systems/parts you want to put on in order to determine the center weight and have a balanced structure etc, etc, etc........ I've looked over the photos you attached, and I just have a few questions. What grade or alloy of aluminium is it to be made of? I would need to know this to do the strength analysis. What type of joints hold the structure together? I'd assume welded joints since that's very common and that's what it looks like in the photos, but just asking to be sure. You've called it a drone, so I'm assuming it's meant to fly. If so, can you tell me what powers it? This is important because unlike steel, aluminium can't be designed with infinite vibration life. So I'd like to do a vibration analysis to get an idea of what the lifetime of the structure would be. Is this a commercial product, or a one of? Are there any regulations it has to adhere to?
