Hi Laura & Matt,
I am a freelance videographer and I currently work a lot with weddings. I have shot two weddings on my own earlier on in my career and I currently work alongside another videographer shooting for his wedding company on a regular basis, as well as editing a 7 min highlight video of each wedding I shoot. Although you don't need editing, I feel that it helps to be very familiar with the editing process in order to get the right shots on the day. We usually shoot the bride and groom getting ready, capture the ceremony (with sound), shoot alongside the photographer during the location shots and capture the speeches (with sound), as well as all the main moments of the reception (entrance, first dance, cake etc.) If the timing permits we stay until the end of the reception. I am confident I could carry out the same procedure by myself using two cameras during the ceremony and speeches (capturing both the bride and groom getting ready would depend on timing and can be discussed). I primarily use a Sony A7Sii as my first camera, which is great for weddings as it works beautifully in the low light of the reception. I would use radio lapel mics for the sound and I also have a phantom 4 drone if you would like some aerial footage of the location (as long as we keep within the safety rules). I don't have my own website for my wedding work, as I work for another company, but that company is called 'Ripple Weddings' if you want to check them out. I would charge $100 p/hr.
