Generally, we will need to do the following: - Analyse the current architecture. This will include Drupal version, plugins used, PHP version, database used, database version and so on). This important because we do not want the app to crash down the road due to version mismatch. - Provision new system in Azure - Copy the code and data from current system. We are not touching the current production setup, so there is no downtime yet. - Ensure that everything works well on the new system. We will have stale data here in the new environment, but that is not an issue, because it is a testing environment so far. - When we are happy, sync the data (assets). It can be used using rsync ==> Now, we will have small outage for final migration as this will include: - resync the data (assets/images/file attachments etc). This will be a incremental sync as we already have copied earlier - dump the production database (whatever you have, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB/MSSQL etc) - Point the DNS - Install SSL Testing, Testing, Testing Let me know in chat if you have any questions.
