I am creating a local history wiki website and am using MediaWiki. Initially this will be on a Windows 10 machine untill the groundwork is built. This will then move to the web server.
I wish to use Infoboxes, like wikipedia. For example if you search for 'London', on Wikipedia, there will be a box on the right with some pictures and a brief overview.
This can be done in MediaWiki however I just cannot get it to work. I have spent 16 hours so far going through all the instructions and I just cannot spend anymore of my time on this.
What I need:
1) A one time setup in Windows 10, possibly with a screenshare, to talk me through the method, as I will be writing the steps down as we go so I can replicate this in the future. This should be about 1 hours work.
2) At some point in the future to repeat point 1 in the web server environment if the method does not translate from Windows.
Note: I am technical but rarely deal with websites or wikis.
Note: Please don't just try and muddle through as that is what I have been doing. Please test the method then demonstrate it.
Greetings! As an experienced Wikipedia editor I believe I am very suitable for this task. I have been very active on Wikipedia for over 10 years, and more than 100 of the articles I've worked on have been selected as the best existing there. Please contact me so we can discuss about this task and determine the amount of time I will need for it.
Hi, I hope you are doing well. As per your project description, you are looking for a Wikipedia editor. I am an expert Wikipedia editor with admin account privileges where I can create your page in maximum 5-8 working days. I have worked on several Wikipedia pages in the past and URL's can be provided to you for consideration.
Note: Wikipedia is a very strict site and you must discuss your project with one person to avoid COI after the page is created/recreated.
Get back to me so we can discuss it further in order to get this started accordingly.
Thank you
