I had a project which involved 2D animation of characters. I was in a hurry and had to choose a freelancer quick which was a mistake on my part. While getting the work done, I came to know that they don't have any understanding on animation. The Animations were poor in quality. What the freelancer did was created graphics at every frame and called in animation. Animation is something when you are creating for a character, you create the initial position, middle position if required and end position, the rest of the keyframes are calcualted automatically by the animation software and the keyframes are also created automatically and the result is a smooth animation. What I got was they created a graphic at each frame and when it came out in the end, it was skipping frames. I tried to get this done by conveying what was missing, how it should be smooth but the freelancer failed to understand. I don't think I will be working with his again. I didn't get the result I was looking for but, since I had made a commitment for the payment, hence, doing it even if I didnt get the results I wanted. I dont really care at this point. The work delivered was unsatisfactory. I dont think they know what animation is.
